Bluestem launched in September 2018 under the direction of GiUng Lee as a place for singers in grades 9-12 who are passionate about music-making. Currently led by artistic director Rob Monson, the choir strives to continue in Prairie Voices Inc.’s strong choral tradition of energy, movement, and excellence. Bluestem will participate in three concerts as a part of this year’s PVI season: two in conjunction with PVI family choirs Prairie Voices and Horizon, as well as a performance with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. To end the season, they wrap up with a full concert of their own, Come Together, in May or June of each year. Join the enthusiasm and excitement of these young choristers as we celebrate the continued success and growth of Bluestem. New members are welcome during select points throughout the season. Bluestem is open to students in grades 8-12. We are still accepting auditions for Bluestem’s 2023-24 season.
